As part of the continuing effort to identify and eliminate lead service lines, Denver Water will be sending contractors out to pothole approximately 170 suspected lead service lines in the District. This work is expected to begin on July 1st and continue throughout the summer. If your home or business has a suspected lead service line and is within the 2023 work package, you will be notified approximately 2 weeks in advance of the work being done.
The contractor will bore 1-2 potholes between the main in the street and your mater meter and 1-2 potholes between the water meter and your home or business. The potholes will allow the visual inspection of the water service line to help determine if it is lead.
