Grease Interceptor

Disposing of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) in the public sewer system can contribute to sewer blockages, sanitary sewer overflows, and backups.

To help limit the amount of FOG in the sanitary sewer system, Bancroft-Clover has a program which establishes uniform policies for pumping, cleaning, and maintaining grease interceptors.

Grease interceptor

The safe and efficient maintenance of a grease trap is essential in order to properly protect the public from possible hazards caused by sanitary sewer overflows and to reduce the costs to the public and District from clogged sewer lines due to fats, oils, and grease build up.

Program Requirements

Existing grease traps should be cleaned at least four times each year or at a frequency necessary to prevent the pass-through of grease, fats, oils and other food solids to the wastewater collection system.

The property owner is responsible for hiring a qualified professional waste grease transporter.

All records of FOG removal, maintenance, and must be submitted to the program coordinator at the District office.
