A clogged or obstructed sewer line backing up into your home or business can be a real headache and be expensive to clean up. The following are some things you can do to help keep your line clear.
Tree roots are one of the leading causes of customer’s sewer lines backing up. Help keep your line clear of tree roots by having it periodically cleaned and inspected. A video inspection will identify root intrusions which can be cleared with root cutting “rooter” blade.
Use your sewer line only for human waste and waste water. Fats, oils and grease can build up on the inside of pipes, clogging them and increasing treatment costs. Dispose of fats, oil and grease by putting them in a jar or can and send them out with the trash. Do not flush foreign objects such as diapers, “flushable” wipes or sanitary products. These objects do not break down in water and can clog your sewer line.
