2026 Drought Response

In response to Colorado’s historically warm and dry winter, the Denver Water Board declared a stage 1 drought on March 25, 2026. Bancroft Clover will be aligning its drought response with the stage 1 restrictions put in place by Denver Water. The drought restrictions are effective as of March 25th, 2026 and include:

Outdoor watering is restricted to no more than two days a week based on the following schedule:
Single Family Homes
• Addresses ending in even numbers: Sunday and Thursday.
• Addresses ending in odd numbers: Wednesday and Saturday.

All other customers, including multifamily properties, commerical properties, homeowners’ associations and government properties, may water only on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Customers must also follow the annual summer watering rules:
• Water only during cooler times of the day, between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.
• Do not allow water to pool in gutters, streets and alleys.
• Do not waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.
• Repair leaking sprinkler systems within 10 days.
• Do not irrigate while it is raining or during high winds.
• Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car.

We do not recommend turning on automatic sprinkler systems until mid-May

Trees, shrubs and plants may be watered any day by means of a hand-held hose or low volume spray irrigation, but not between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. If you are planning to plant new sod or grass seed, please contact the District office at 303-922-1113 or support@bancroftclover.com for more information.

Customers irrigating ditch or well water are required to display prominent signage indicating the source of the irrigation water (e.g. “well water”) and abide by the annual summer watering rules.

The latest information on the drought and water supply can be found on Denver Water’s website.

In addition to watering restrictions, Denver Water is expected to introduce temporary drought pricing on April 8, 2026. The Bancroft Clover Board of Directors will consider temporary drought rates at a public meeting conducted on April 20th 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the District office. The meeting is open to the public.
